Privacy Policy
About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DryRoute (the App, "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data. It applies to the DryRoute iOS application and is written in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679).
Data Controller
The data controller responsible for processing your personal data is the developer of DryRoute. For contact details, see the Contact section below.
Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Location data — your device's GPS coordinates or a manually selected location, used solely to fetch local weather forecasts. Location is never stored on our servers.
- Usage analytics (optional) — when you have not disabled analytics, we collect anonymised events such as which features you use. No personally identifiable information is included.
- Crash and performance data — collected automatically by Firebase to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any other directly identifying data.
Legal Basis for Processing
- Location & weather functionality — processing is necessary to perform the core service you requested (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Analytics — processed on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy by turning off "Share analytics data".
- Crash reporting — legitimate interest in maintaining a stable and secure application (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party data processors:
- Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — Google LLC, USA. Processes anonymised usage and crash data. Data may be transferred outside the EU under Standard Contractual Clauses. ://google.com
No third party is permitted to use your data for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
Data Retention
- Location data is processed in memory only and is never persisted to our servers.
- Analytics events are retained by Google Firebase for up to 14 months, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Crash logs are retained for 90 days.
- Your preferences (unit settings, saved locations) are stored locally on your device only and are deleted when you uninstall the App.

- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — you may ask us to correct inaccurate data.
